We have compiled this list of useful resources for any of our visitors who are interested in our research topic, or who may be going through pregnancy loss themselves.

 

Our Project Partners

Antenatal Results and Choices – ARC

Antenatal Results and Choices helps parents and healthcare professionals through antenatal screening, providing support and information at all stages of the process. Their helpline is answered by trained staff and is available Monday to Friday, 10.00am–5.30pm. Call 0845 077 2290 or 0207 713 7486 from a mobile. There is also a forum on their website for ARC members.

The Human Tissue Authority – HTA

The Human Tissue Authority is responsible for creating guidelines governing the disposal of human remains. We are working with them on this project to ensure that our findings inform future revisions to their published guidance on fetal remains.

The Miscarriage Association – MA

The Miscarriage Association provides a range of information and support for those affected by miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or molar pregnancy. They have an online forum and a helpline is available 9:00am–4:00pm Monday to Friday (01924 200799). Email support is also available on info@miscarriageassociation.org.uk.

Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity – Sands

Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby before, during or shortly after birth. Along with a range of resources on their website, including an online forum, they have a network of over 104 local support groups across the UK. Their telephone helpline, on 020 7436 5881, is available 9:30am-–5:30pm Monday to Friday, and 6:00pm– 10:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. They offer email support on helpline@uk-sands.org

The Pinks N Blues CIC

Pregnancy Loss Peer Support Organisation offering Free Pregnancy Loss Peer Support Groups and Pregnancy After Loss Peer Support Groups for Birmingham and the West Midlands. We offer training for Peer Support Facilitators and how to set up Peer Support Groups. We also deliver training for GP’s, Health Care Practitioners, Ambulance Service, Public Sector, Private Sector and Third Sector organisations. Our training content is tailored to the needs of your organisation/audience. PNB also offers limited 1-2-1 support face to face, Skype, email and telephone. Email: enquiry@thepinksnblues.co.uk 

Tommy’s

Tommy’s funds research into the causes and prevention of pregnancy complications that lead to miscarriage, premature birth, and stillbirth. Their website hosts a range of information on pregnancy health.

Cruse Bereavement Care

Cruse supports those suffering from any sort of bereavement across the UK. Their helpline is open Monday-Friday 9.30am–5pm (excluding bank holidays), with extended hours until 8:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings. The number is 0808 808 1677, and email support is available at helpline@cruse.org.uk

TAMBA Bereavement Support Group (BSG)

The Tamba Bereavement Support Group (BSG) exists to support all parents and carers of twins, triplets or more who have experienced loss, whether it was during pregnancy, at birth or shortly afterwards.

4Louis

4Louis aims to support bereaved families by providing hopsitals across the UK with memory boxes, photography equipment, moses baskets, and ‘cuddle cots’.
